I go by Maggie or padawansguide online, Maggie being my real name, padawansguide being one of my websites. Sadly, I wasn't creative enough to come up with a clever user name, so it is what it is!
I guess my "claim to fame" on the internets is the Star Wars costume research web site, PadawansGuide.com, that I started in 2000, and its sister site on movie costumes in general, CostumersGuide.com (started in 2005). I also run EverAfterCostumes.com, dedicated to the costumes from, you guessed it, the movie "Ever After" - that site pre-dates Costumer's Guide, which is why it is its own entity. I don't update any of the sites as much as I used to, mostly due to a lack of time. I actually don't even do as much movie costuming as I used to - it seems to be mostly historical now, particularly 18th century, which I love like cake.
This LJ a somewhat personal one, and not something I advertise on my websites. Though this started as a costume journal, I'm also really into photography and music (yay, Beatles!), and I post whatever interests me. I do have a large f-list at this point, so if I don't add you back at this time, it's nothing personal.
I tend to friends-lock all but the most recent general fandom/innocuous posts. I just feel more comfortable knowing who is reading my thoughts. I don't mind people friending me, but I can't promise to friend everyone back as I already have more people on my f-list than I can keep up with.
