Hi! If you've found me through one of my websites, this is my personal journal. If you want costume news, you won't find it here, it'll be posted on one of my websites: costumersguide.com and padawansguide.com. Please note I am pretty retired from updating both those sites.

I also do have public Facebook pages for both sites. Please feel free to follow me there:
http://facebook.com/costumersguide and http://facebook.com/padawansguide

I also have a twitter account for costumersguide:
http://twitter.com/costumersguide

And a public blog of my own sewing projects:

Here, Maggie, I didn't know how else to get these to you, but I thought you might appreciate it. Rottentomatoes.com has a decent amount of POTC3 pics up, a good amount of which I had never seen before and show some good details on Tia Dalma's costume and some others as well. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/pirates_of_the_caribbean_3/gallery.php?page=45&size=hires&nopop=1

Dear Maggie,

bastetbabe27 here; I just got a LJ account, and though there's nothing posted there yet, I was wondering if you would mind adding me as a friend. Thanks!

Oh and many thanks for having an Ever After site....when I found yours in 2005 I was so happy, I absolutley love the movie. Now all you need is a Labyrinth site ;).

Hi! fellow costumer here! I've seen your comments on several of my friends' posts and would lose my mind if it weren't for your websites so I just had to add you! I've found lj to be one of the most helpful resources when it comes to linking up with other costumers who can talk you down from the ledge after the 30th time having to re-thread the serger or easing in a sleeve from down below! nice to meet you!

Hi! I adore your Costumers' Guide, but somehow didn't realise you were on LJ, but would really like to read your journal. The Costumers' Guide is such a wonderful resource; I run to it so often after watching a film, just so I can perv on this, that, or the other dress in detail!

Hey Maggie! I just stumbled upon your journal, and seeing as I've been an addict to the Costumers Guide for quite a while I was very happy to see you here! =) I'd love to read your locked costuming posts, if you don't mind!

Hi! Thanks for the kind words about my site! :-) I've added you, if you'd like to add me! :-)

Glad to see someone else loves Marie Antoinette as much as I do! ;-)

Yep, you're added right back! =)
I'm so psyched to see that you've started on the Sleepy Hollow gown! I bummed out on the fabrics I had intended to use for my Dangerous Liaisons gown, so unless I can find another set of equally nice matching fabrics at a fair price, I think I'm doing Sleepy Hollow this fall. So it'll be great to follow your adventures with it! =)

Thanks! :-)

I'm really excited about finally doing the SH gown - I definitely recommend the striped silk taffeta from exclusive_silks - it's fantastic! Let me know if you want a link for it.

It's always fun to see how other people do this gown. I've got one other person on my f-list who is working on one now, and two friends that have done them already! :-)

I have that fabric watched on ebay already ;)
And I'm so glad to hear that you like it - since my boyfriend is traveling to both India and China for work this fall I was thinking of having him buy me some fabric instead of having the exclusive_silks shipped to me. But if it is as nice as it seems (and at quite a good price), I think I might go for it rather than trusting Jo to get it right ;)

Yay - who else is doing the dress? Oh, now I wanna dump my current projects and start on the SH gown, hehe... =)

It's really nice fabric - I was worried about the tray not being dark enough, but it's really a dark charcoal that looks blackish in some light. I wanted it to not be stark black since it looks faded in some pics.

[livejournal.com profile] lachwen is also doing the dress currently. And [livejournal.com profile] ferdalump and [livejournal.com profile] blackpearl_77 have already done it.

There are somep pics of their costumes somewhere on this page!

First, I would like to thank you. Your costume sites have been a great help and inspiration to me over the years and I find myself browsing it every few days or weeks to see if there are any new additions. I would love to do a similar site myself never have the time, nor the ability with html so I love that someone like yourself has done such great work.

Second, I would love it if you would friend me. I don't use LJ nearly as often as some of my other sites but I pop in irregularly to see what has been happening with people, new announcements, tid bits and ideas.

Btw, I'm just starting a MA inspired 18th Century gown in yellow and blue stripe. SO excited!

lol Yes, Starfire Phoenix is a good friend of mine. We're both in Oz, members of the same Star Wars group and in the costumer's guild together. It's so much fun hanging out with her at cons! Do you ever think you might come visit Down Under?

I hope to post about the gown as it progresses. I'm usually a bit secretive about some of my current projects,, in case I don't finish them and for the surprise factor etc, but if I manage to keep myself organized I want to show the steps of this one and a couple others. I have a blue and gold Italian renaissance gown planned soon too.

Thank you for adding me as your friend. :)

Alison is one of my first online costume friends - we met early on in the LotR madness! :-) I'd love to visit Australia and New Zealand, but it's so far and so expensive, I'm not sure if it will ever happen! :-)
